In this article we will talk about "Precaution and Symptoms of BLACK FUNGUS".  Now in India most of the state and UT declared Black fungus as an Epidemic. 

Total no of cases of black fungus is 8848 till Sat, May 22. Most of the cases of black fungus has been found in Maharashtra and Gujarat. 

Black fungus is more deadly than corona, its mortality rate is 50%. Black fungus is happening to those persons who have diabetes or low immunity power, and it is more susceptible to COVID19 patient include those who used steroid during their virus treatment.

Symptoms of Black Fungus according to CDC  

Symptoms depend on where in the body the fungus is growing

Symptoms of rhinocerebral (sinus and brain) mucormycosis include:

  • One-sided facial swelling
  • Headache
  • Nasal or sinus congestion
  • Black lesions on nasal bridge or upper inside of mouth that quickly become more severe
  • Fever

Symptoms of pulmonary (lung) mucormycosis include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath

Cutaneous (skin) mucormycosis can look like blisters or ulcers, and the infected area may turn black. Other symptoms include pain, warmth, excessive redness, or swelling around a wound.

Symptoms of gastrointestinal mucormycosis include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding

Precautions 

1. Maintain personal cleanliness, include an absolute scrub bath in lukewarm water.

2. Whenever you are going outdoors always wear medical authorities suggested surgical mask.

3. Sanitize your hand or wash with soap often.

4. Consult with medical experts and attend their guidance if any sign develop.
